Lose the Baby Weight and Clean Eating Week 3
This has been my hardest week so far. About half way through my salad on Tuesday afternoon I completely lost my appetite. In fact my salad repulsed me and I didn’t know why. I was worried for awhile we might have munchie number two on the way!
I went home early from work and by 9 pm I had a fever of 101 degrees. (Not preggers but a terrible stomach virus.)
I had no desire for food for 24 hours. When my appetite came back I couldn’t even think of eating any of the things I had been for the past few weeks. It all sounded gross. To tell you the truth some of it still kind of does.
Half of the food I bought last week went to waste. I cheated a lot and ate comfort food (Note the picture of grilled cheese and tomato soup in my dinner photos). I had to eat to get well and the idea of fruits and veggies sounded terrible. I was really bad one night and had pizza. (Gasp)
This was for sure the hardest week for me, but I didn’t give up. Sometimes life happens and you get a stomach flu. Don’t be too hard on yourself, just get back on track!
Into week four now I have lost just about 5 lbs.
Breakfast: Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread toast (you can find this in most grocery stores in the freezer section where they have organic and health frozen foods, it’s sprouted grains so it needs to be refrigerated or frozen) with coconut milk yogurt and blueberries on top. I can make this at home or at work and it’s pretty quick.
Over the weekend when I had more time I made an egg white scramble with sauteed kale, tomatoes, mushrooms and some feta. Another morning I made 7 grain hot cereal with berries and a spoon full of peanut butter. Tip: Make it really pretty and it becomes more satisfying to eat too!
Lunch: Lunch was hard this week because I just couldn’t eat my salads after I got sick. I also think I am getting really tired of my kale and apple salads. One day that I was at work and not sick I had Chipotle sofritas with no cheese or sour cream. Another day at home I had spaghetti squash topped with Amy’s organic chili.
The plan was supposed to be Mexican salads most of the week. Like this one. Next week I plan to step up my lunch game and have more variety. I will have more ideas for you then.
Dinner: On the days that I was good this week I had amazing shirmp tacos seasoned with Mrs. Dash fiesta lime and topped with avocado and a little greek yogurt and cilantro. SO GOOD. I will make that again next week. We also had ground turkey with onions seasoned with Mrs. Dash. (the rest of the week was chicken noodle soup or other comfort foods)
Sides were roasted butternut squash or roasted Brussels sprouts.
Snacks: I snacked on lara bars and mandarin oranges. The mandarin oranges were awesome. They are small and you can throw a few in your bag and then peel so easy! I also ate a lot of green grapes this week.
Challenges Obviously being sick was a huge challenge this week. I wasn’t able to exercise either. I am into week four now and things are already better (except now I have a head cold) and I can’t wait to share this weeks plan with you next week!
Inspiration Mid November I finally traded in my leggings for some new jeans that were my new after baby size. Well, they were SUPPOSED to be my new size. I still bought them a little too small. I think I just couldn’t do it yet. A month later I was finally gave in (after I couldn’t deal with the squeeze anymore) and bought a few pair from Gap in the the CORRECT size.
The new Gap jeans are too big now! The first pair I bought is almost perfect. LOVE THAT. Totally motivated to keep going.
New favorites: Mrs. Dash fiesta lime on everything.
