5.9 Margarita Sabbatical

Sorry I don't have anything tasty to share with you today ...

I normally would have come home after work and started cooking/baking something, but last night I just wanted to sit on my porch with Honey, have a cocktail and pet her. (The poor thing was home alone when her world shook. She hates thunder so I can only imagine how she feels about earthquakes.)

I bet people in Cali are laughing right now but ... I really just needed a hug and some time to chill out after the walls in my office rumbled and my co worker yelled "Run! We have to get out of here." (total panic in my office)

After my margarita on the rocks with salt I felt better... I decided to clean the bathroom since we have a friend staying with us for the weekend. And then I figured, I might as well clean the kitchen too ...

Before I knew it the sun was going down and I missed all my good photography light. I will make it up to you I promise.

P.S. New stuff on Facebook though. Stop by

  1. Weird that it was on the east coast..too many odd things lately from mother nature. I am glad you are ok and that drink looks like a good way to unwind and relax. Cheers!

  2. Tina, I agree. Too many odd things lately. This was actually my SECOND earthquake in this area in about a year. So weird.

  4. I'm in CA and I didn't laugh because I remember our last one which was 4.2 I think, I was outside gardening and I thought my house was literally falling down with the boom from the shockwaves. I think I had a good drink after that one too :)
    Thanks for sharing..

  5. I just moved from San Francisco to NYC and its funny look at my facebook news feed to see the status from people on both coasts. The CA ppl were making fun of the east coasters and the east coasters were very scared!

  6. So weird about the earth quake. I guess we had one yesterday where I am but I didn't even feel it. That happens all the time here - don't even feel them!

I've only experienced a handful of earthquakes that I actually felt. When you do feel them though, they sure are freaky!

  9. What was strange about that earthquake was how large it was. 5.9 is no small trembler.

    Glad you are OK.

  10. I remeber a story of my father, when he was visiting Costa Rica.He told me the whole house of his business friends where he was staying was shaking like mad..but they just kept sitting where they were..not attempting to go out.Noticing the panic on his face they said: If you want you can go out in the garden.Which he couldn't refuse;))
We have a lot of little and sometimes (sadly) big earthquakes here ,so I know how you felt. You are ok that is the main thing:)

  11. Thanks everyone! <3 I hope it doesn't become something that we have to get used to like my Californian friends. I hear that I slept through another one last night. This is just so bizarre!
